Bosch Global Software Technologies has announced its AIShield program as an autonomous corporate startup, with a special focus on the AI security domain. The AIShield team would be working towards AI security solution democratisation for developers, businesses, and practitioners.
AIShield first started as an innovation which was unveiled at the CES held in January 2022. AIShield is an industry-first, ready-to-deploy solution with more than 20 patents in the AI security space. Offered as a SaaS product and consulting-led AI security services suited for embedded, cloud, and on-premise applications, it provides vulnerability assessment and security protection to an organisation’s AI-powered devices and cloud solutions. It generates detailed analysis and threat identification to remove security challenges and manage associated risks for AI systems. The as-a-service nature of this product helps organisations scale AIShield on multiple AI systems.
In an earlier interview with Analytics India Magazine, Manojkumar Parmar, the then deputy general manager – Technical at Bosch on AI and Security, who is also leading the team, said, “I worked with my colleagues for eight months to really understand and get to the crux of what AI security encompasses.
Initially, we formulated a very informal study; we realised that the field was very nascent. All the focus was on how to increase the accuracy of the model, and security was not of any concern. The higher management approved our idea to build something in this space, and we spent the next few years building the proof of concept to demonstrate the security issues with the production-grade AI. Once that was done, the team and the company decided that it was time investment was made into this initiative.
In April 2021, the entire program was born. The team consists of 12 members from diverse backgrounds like AI, security, product management, and business development.”
Parmar is now elevated to the position of Founder, CEO, and CTO at AIShield.
Bosch AIShield would now be working towards the creation of newer partnerships; acquisition of new customer segments with innovative business models; acquiring the best talent in the space of AI and security; actively participating in global standardisation and regulatory aspects of AI security; engaging with the startup community around the world.
