Cognizant to use Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service for Building Assistant for Employees

Cognizant has teamed up with Microsoft to unveil the Innovation Assistant, a generative AI-powered tool built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. This transformative technology is set to enhance Cognizant’s internal innovation initiative, Bluebolt.

The Innovation Assistant, described as a pioneering tool, is engineered to absorb enterprise knowledge, fostering greater creativity and innovation among Cognizant teams dedicated to addressing client challenges across diverse industries. This strategic launch underscores Cognizant’s commitment to reshaping human-machine collaboration through AI, aiming to propel knowledge and innovation by tapping into the company’s extensive technical and industry expertise.

Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The creativity and ingenuity of Cognizant’s people is one of the things that sets us apart in our industry, and we see our Innovation Assistant as a game-changer in the way we generate and implement ideas.” 

Emphasising the collaboration with Microsoft, Kumar added, “Together with Microsoft, we are harnessing the power of generative AI to revolutionise our approach to innovation, with the goal of ensuring we, and our clients, stay ahead in a rapidly evolving business environment.”

Integral to Cognizant’s grassroots innovation movement, Bluebolt provides a framework for employees, regardless of their level or location, to actively contribute to the innovation process from ideation to implementation. The integration of generative AI into Bluebolt positions the Innovation Assistant as a critical element, empowering Cognizant employees with a unique blend of virtual guidance and real-world support. 

Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft, India & South Asia, commented on the significance of Cognizant’s innovative approach, stating, “It’s amazing to see the power of gen AI enable innovation at different levels of an organisation with Cognizant’s Innovation Assistant.” 

Chandok highlighted the platform’s ability to unlock the potential of individuals and teams, emphasising its role as a force multiplier built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. “Cognizant’s platform aims to enable customers to gain access to insights from enterprise data and stay ahead in the ever-evolving digital landscape,” he added.
